FOUNDING PARTNER
Matthew Marin is a founding partner at Marin & Murphy Law Firm and a leader within the Plaintiffs’ bar, where he represents plaintiffs in mass tort and personal injury litigation. With over 17 years of experience, he litigates cases involving personal injury, corporate negligence, defective products, and environmental disasters, preparing them for trial and holding corporations and individuals accountable.
Matthew represents municipal water providers in the PFAS Water Contamination MDL in South Carolina Federal Court. As co-counsel with Levin Papantonio, he helped recover $14.5 million for municipal water providers whose supplies were contaminated by PFAS “forever chemicals” manufactured by 3M, DuPont and related entities. He served as co-counsel in the Zantac (ranitidine) litigation, representing clients who alleged that NDMA contamination in ranitidine caused their cancers. Approximately 215 of those clients were compensated through settlements with the manufacturers. In addition, he leads the representation of hundreds of individuals in nationwide PFAS personal injury cases, addressing injuries such as kidney cancer, testicular cancer, ulcerative colitis, and thyroid disease, and he has negotiated confidential settlements in 2023 for clients harmed by Xeljanz and Elmiron.
Beyond his mass tort work, Matthew has secured substantial recoveries in personal injury cases, including a $400,000 settlement for a bicycle accident victim and a $250,000 settlement for a golf cart accident victim, both in Summerville, SC. He is currently tackling Depo-Provera lawsuits and ultra-processed food litigation, reinforcing his commitment to protecting the rights of the injured.

Learn how Marin & Murphy Law Firm is holding 3M and DuPont accountable for PFAS contamination and fighting for victims of kidney and testicular cancer.
3M and DuPont harmed thousands of Americans with increased rates of kidney cancer and testicular cancer. It’s important to hold 3M and DuPont accountable to ensure that future corporations don’t prioritize profits over human health because they knew and could have warned the public.
PFAS chemicals are a grouping of synthetic chemicals that have been spread throughout the environment by a few companies, mainly 3M and DuPont, and now can be found in water supplies throughout the globe and in the majority of human blood throughout the United States.
My father was an environmental scientist and was exposed; he spent most of his adult life suffering. It’s important personally for me and for the victims of this past water contamination to step forward and hold 3M and DuPont accountable for polluting the water supplies throughout the country.
They’re unique chemicals because they don’t break down in the environment and they bioaccumulate in the human body, which means prolonged exposure leads to higher levels of PFAS in an individual’s blood. There has not been a safe level of PFAS exposure that’s been identified; in fact, research has shown that even low-level exposure over a prolonged period of time can lead to significant health effects, including cancer. The C8 Science Panel, which is one of the largest PFAS studies ever conducted, showed a probable link between exposure to PFAS chemicals and kidney cancer and testicular cancer.
3M knew putting PFAS in firefighting foam would cause widespread environmental contamination, that PFAS chemicals were harmful to human health and a likely human carcinogen, and decided to keep that from the EPA and the public. They need to be held accountable by the people they injured.
At Marin & Murphy, we can help you identify if you live in a contaminated area that may have led to your injury, so it’s important that if you have kidney cancer or testicular cancer that you reach out to us, and we can work with you to identify whether you’ve been exposed to PFAS water contamination.
Currently tackling Depo-Provera, Ozempic, and Oxbryta lawsuits as well as the ultra-processed food litigation, Matthew’s a trailblazer in emerging legal battles.
